Dolphins vs. Eagles picks and predictions 2015: Philadelphia expected to roll

Philadelphia has a chance to advance past the .500 mark.

What a difference two weeks makes. Heading into their Thursday night showdown against the New England Patriots onOct. 29, the Miami Dolphins appeared to be a recharged bunch. They had beaten the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans handily under fiery interim head coach Dan Campbell and appeared to be on the cusp of resuscitating their season.

But then the Patriots blew them out by 29 points and the Buffalo Bills walloped them 33-17. And now the 3-5 Dolphins sit as major underdogs heading into their Week 10 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 4-4 Eagles are coming off a scintillating overtime victory against the woefully undermanned Dallas Cowboys. Sam Bradford connected with wide receiver Jordan Matthews in OT for the game winner. It's been an up-and-down season for Bradford, who finally appears to be getting used to Chip Kelly's offense. He's posted quarterback ratings north of 88 on three occasions over the last five weeks, including a 103.4 rating last week.

But the real positive development with the Eagles has been the resurgence of their running game. DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews both had nice nights against Dallas, rushing for 83 yards and 67 yards, respectively. Murray also caught six passes for 78 yards out of the backfield and scored a touchdown as well.

Murray and Mathews could have big games again this Sunday -- the Dolphins' run defense is second-worst in the NFL. Miami's defense is ranked 25th overall.

If the Dolphins are going to beat the Eagles, Ryan Tannehill will probably have to play a clean game on the road, which doesn't seem likely. His performance has regressed from 2014 and it doesn't appear to be getting any better.

Most of the experts don't expect Tannehill to lead the Dolphins to a win in Philadelphia. The home team is a big favoriteat ESPN, while seven of eight pickersat CBS Sports agree.Six of our seven experts at SB Nation also think the Eagles will take care of business and clear the .500 mark.
